ROOM SPECIFICATION
Walking from Newcastle Central Train Station
On leaving the main station entrance turn right onto Neville Street. Carry on walking where Neville Street will change to Collingwood Street and then in turn to Mosely Street. At the end of Mosely Street cross onto the Pilgrim Street Roundabout with the Tyne Bridge on your right. Pass around the office buildings on the roundabout keeping them on your left before descending into an underpass. The Holy Jesus Hospital Museum will be on your left hand side. Carry on walking and pass under the railway bridge. You are now on Melbourne Street and Student Castle is approximately 200 yards ahead on the left hand side.
Walking from Manors Metro Station
On leaving the Metro Station turn right and right again and follow the path towards the King’s Manor pub. Pass the pub keeping it on your left until you reach Argyle Street. Turn right and cross the railway line for 100 yards until you reach Melbourne Street. Turn left onto Melbourne Street and Student Castle is 100 yards on the left hand side.
Driving
For Sat Nav use postode NE1 6NL.
Leave the A1(M) at A184 signposted Newcastle (city centre). Remaining in the left hand lane take the third exit at the roundabout remaining on the A184 (Askew Road). Remain on Askew Road before turning onto the A167 and crossing the Tyne Bridge. After crossing the bridge take the first exit to the Pilgrim Street Roundabout. Take the fourth exit onto Melbourne Street signposted Quayside. Pass under the railway line and Student Castle is approximately 200 yards ahead on the left hand side.
Arriving from Newcastle International Airport
If you are arriving into Newcastle Airport then the easiest way to get to Student Castle will be to take the Metro to Manors Station. Student Castle is a short walk from the station (see directions above) This will take approximately half an hour and will require you to change at Monument. A single ticket costs approximately £3.
A taxi will cost approximately £15.
